Find responsible, insurance verified businesses.

Why We Exist

We Protect Consumers was launched with one core goal in mind-- to protect consumers from uninsured companies. verifies that businesses have insurance and then lists those businesses as “Insurance Verified” on the website.

Business Mistakes Happen Every Day

The motivation to launch InsuredBusinesses was two-fold. First, there are uninsured claims quietly happening every day. In a span of about two weeks, we learned of a flooring contractor that had completely destroyed a kitchen floor. Then, a local auto repair shop didn’t properly install brakes on a vehicle and ultimately caused a major collision because of a mechanic’s mistake. Neither company had the proper coverage or the money to repair the damages, so the consumer had figure out how to pay the bill.

No One Is Verifying Insurance (except us)

If that’s not enough, as the team did our research, we couldn’t find a single city or state in the United States that required liability insurance to operate a business. How absurd is that? How can any city or state government let a business operate without insurance, which is designed to protect consumers? Every day, we let businesses work on our homes, repair our vehicles and even take care of our kids, when many don’t have the insurance to protect us if they make a mistake-- and every business is likely to make a mistake.

We Wanted To Help

Someone needed to stand up-- and that’s exactly what the team did. We launched a company that verifies businesses have insurance with hopes of protecting consumers from financial loss due to a business mistake or negligent business practices. We want to expand transparency to give consumers peace of mind when hiring home improvement contractors, auto repair companies, day care providers and other business types they trust with valuable belongings.

All Businesses Should Be Insured

The team at is just like everyone else-- we understand it's awkward to ask businesses for proof of insurance before using their services. That's why we exist. We want to give consumers peace of mind and we want to flush out the companies that are operating without insurance.
